MEET YOUR BOSS
I am Boss Carmen— a Japanese-Australian Dominatrix based in Sydney/Eora, classically trained in BDSM & the Art of Eros by San Fransisco’s Finest.
Through BDSM & FemDom, I explore Erotic Maximalism & the Anatomy of Gender Performativity.
I take delight in examining cultural anxieties surrounding the ‘Monstrous Feminine’ by embodying archetypes that haunt & threaten the collective patriarchal imagination.
THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT
Having spent My early childhood sprawled across tatami reading Japanese horror fables in My grandmother’s countryside home— situated between a rice field and a graveyard, no less— I emerged fixated on all things Gothic & Macabre.
Japanese folklore warns of obscene demons masquerading as sweet & approachable women; from cunning animals disguised as the girl-next-door, to murderous femme-fatale cannibals hiding their awful gaping mouths under surgical masks & feminine wiles.
The Jorōgumo shapeshifts into a beautiful woman before luring her victims into silky bondage. Once tightly mummified, she devours them whole.
Yuki Onna, or the Courtesan of Snows, floats across the snow leaving no footprints, preying on lost travellers. She pretends to hold a baby & asks her victims for help, only to kill them with one delicate blow of her icy breath.
In these folktales, the following themes appear in repetition:
1) Women are not what they say they are
2) Femininity is untrustworthy, unstable & treacherous; doubly dangerous for its maddening allure
3) ‘Womanhood’ as we know it is ultimately a farce; an elaborate performance driven by ambition, ulterior motives or evil entities
I relish in the juiciness of these suspicions & accusations. What better arena to explore the ‘Monstrous Feminine’ than a dynamic BDSM scene?
Through BDSM, I embark on an odyssey through My special interests, favourite myths & most unhinged fantasies. Are you curious?
I invite you to join me.
